The Tuolumne County Green Map was conceived by students in an introductory GIS class at Columbia College, and inspired by the Green Map System, a global system of locally created maps that chart the natural and cultural environment.

The first edition Tuolumne County Green Map, entitled "A Day-Tripper's Green Guide to Tuolumne County," is available in printed form. This website is our first attempt at a second edition, and should be considered a work-in-progress. The maps are available in PDF form, but can be viewed interactively by downloading the free SVG Viewer software from Adobe.
